You are here because a man you know believes you may benefit from being part of an experiential men’s weekend called “Deep Water,” occurring the weekend of March 8-10, 2024, at the Tilikum Retreat Center outside of Newberg, Oregon.

What Is Deep Water?

This weekend is for you if you are seeking to…

  • Get past feeling “stuck” in habits of the head, heart or body
  • Wrestle with whatever is blocking you from growing as a man
  • Move beyond shallow relationships
  • Journey from being fragmented to being whole
  • Know and be known
  • Be part of a brotherhood of men
  • Sense the sacred in the here and now
It might not be for everyone. It is for you if you are ready to…

  • Take a deep look into your heart, your past, and face what you find there
  • Challenge yourself emotionally, physically and spiritually
  • Work through whatever is blocking you from becoming who you were designed to be

It’s up to you.

At each stage, YOU decide how far you want to take your journey.
You only do what you want to do. Everything is optional.

“Deep Water for me is a space that feels challenging and at times frightening, but it has proven to be exceptionally transformative. It has provided me an opportunity to confront misconceptions about God, myself, others, and the Church and reframe them within a supportive community of men. It’s no exaggeration to say that Deep Water has saved my faith, my marriage, and perhaps my life.” Raleigh

Your cost covers all expenses (six meals, lodging, materials, and the cost of flying staff in from out of state).
The average cost for weekends of this sort typically starts at $500. The men on staff and other past participants supplement your cost in order to make this experience possible for as many men as possible.

Background

A group of four men, who between us have staffed over 100 experiential men’s weekends of this kind, put together the logistics and first weekend of Deep Water in November of 2009. The work has continued yearly to build a community of men committed to pushing the edge of growth. The staff is made up of those men and men who went through the retreat over the last nine years who want to give back so you can have a similar opportunity.

The Deep Water weekend integrates Christian faith with the tools for healing the inner landscape of a man. Using tools that help men work through what is going on at the heart, gut, head and body levels, it is our hope that the weekend is a safe place to get blocks out of the way, allowing you to make steps toward new levels of wholeness and life.

Creating a Space

It’s difficult to find a space that is safe and free of distraction. But that is what we are aiming to provide. All cell phones, watches, and computers are left in the car or at home. The weekend is confidential so you are free to do the work you have come to do. The experience is a “sealed container” helping create a distraction-free zone from Friday at 5pm to Sunday at 4pm—so if you can’t come for the entire time it is best to wait until another weekend when you can experience the time as an undivided whole.

What we need from you

When you register, you will be asked for a minimum $125 deposit to reserve your spot. If financial arrangements need to be made, please send an email to admin@deepwatermen.com. If you have suggestions of men you know that you feel may be interested in being a part of this, please contact the man who talked to you about the weekend.

Questions?

Feel free to speak with the man who invited you. Questions about registration, payment, and other questions can be directed to info@deepwatermen.com.

Blessings to you men – We look forward to joining you in this adventure.
